    The Birth of Polar

Polar was born when, with an investment of £1,000 each, three colleagues from the window industry set up the company in July 1983. What the owners lacked in experience they made up for in determination and passion and through their hard work the seed of Polar as it is today was planted. Sandy Baxter is the only original investor who remains involved in the company today.

    Updated our Brand Identity

With the business continuing to grow, the shareholders felt it was the right time to update the company’s identity. This updated branding was designed by one of the previous shareholders daughters, which shows a Polar bear climbing out of a window to link with the company name and the industry.

With one of the shareholders leaving the business to follow another venture, there was a vacancy created. Ray Hill was already well known by Polar through his construction business, in which he purchased windows from Polar for 4 years prior to joining. With a technical background in the construction industry, Ray brought along, and still does to this day, a wealth of knowledge to the business.
