Belvoir Ward

When your work elicits tears of joy, you know you’ve done a good job.

And that wave of emotion is what greeted Polar NE’s team when a key NHS project was handed back to the staff on the Belvoir Ward, at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit.

The £1.4m site, operated by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, is an acute mental health admission unit with Belvoir Ward one of seven acute admissions ward on site.

It is site we know well; Having developed a solid relationship with both the NHS trust itself, and the builder Tilbury Douglas, we have repeatedly been entrusted to deliver improvements throughout the site

On this occasion, we were tasked with providing and installing screens, doors and windows across the ward following concerns from the trust’s leadership over the existing sets.

It was an environment they were determined to bring up to spec, and thanks to our impressive product range and delivery know-how, we even exceeded their expectations.

The products

* 35x Trent Secure Fixed:  An anti-ligature window solution that requires no natural airflow, just natural light – and is ideal for mental health environments (up to medium secure).

 * 5x Medway Seclusion screens: Created solely for isolation or seclusion room environments, it serves as an anti-tamper secure seclusion room window.

* 7x Hamble secure doors: A reduced ligature heavy-duty healthcare door, it offers increased safety and security and is available as both a single/double.

The job

We spent two months between March and May 2025 on-site delivering the work and our award-winning and comprehensive product base was crucial to the job’s success.
