We are proud to announce that our MD James Hill is a finalist for the Entrepreneurs Forum Scale-Up Entrepreneur of the Year. James joined Polar back in 2007 and has now been heading the business in the Managing Director position for almost 3 years.
Who are Entrepreneur’s Forum?
Founded in 2002 as a not-for-profit organisation by Sir Peter Vardy and Lorna Moran OBE, the Entrepreneurs’ Forum has grown from 40 founding members to hundreds of North East entrepreneurs. For over 19 years The Entrepreneurs’ Forum have been hosting their annual North East Entrepreneurial Awards, celebrating entrepreneurs who have stood out from the crowd, leading dynamic, innovative businesses and making a genuine change to our region!
What is the award?
Scale-up Entrepreneur of the Year – A business owner who is leading a scaling company achieving 20%+ annualised growth in either turnover, profit or employee numbers for any (but ideally all) of the past three years. We are looking for an entrepreneur who has been able to navigate the challenges brought by the pandemic and stay on course to achieve their future growth ambitions.
Vision for the future?
James has said that “The business is scaling and we believe it has great potential to keep going. As our products are being discovered overseas, we are creating opportunities not only in turnover and profit, but in our potential to impact as many lives as we can in a positive way. We want to keep growing the company and have visions of supplying our products globally, creating a campus style HQ in the North East that allows our culture to carry on becoming stronger. I want our people to continue to love coming to work in the family environment we’ve created, but be able to further enhance their physical and mental well-being in the process.”
The Awards
This year’s awards ceremony will be held at The Hilton Newcastle Gateshead (NE8 2AR) on Friday 7th October. The evening will commence at 6pm with a drinks reception, with guests seated for dinner at 7pm.
