The Design In Mental Health Conference, Exhibition & Awards 2023 was the 10 year anniversary for the event which we have witnessed through our involvement, the growth & positive change it has brought. This event is annual and creates an opportunity to bring together lived experience, healthcare professionals, architects, designers, suppliers, and innovators in the field of mental health design.
This year allowed us to introduce new products, share new collaborative ventures and we had the largest footfall we’ve ever experienced. This footfall opened up many more conversations around our existing products and the positive impact they’re having for people out in this world, as well as the many ideas and opportunities to further develop products in the ever evolving and ever changing mental healthcare spaces.
The conference provided an ideal platform for us to share our insights and innovative solutions with like-minded professionals, while also learning from others in the field. We have always had a large focus on collaboration within the mental healthcare sector, but this year we believe this level of collaboration was taken higher with ‘Bedroom Evolved’, which you can read a little more into here: Bedroom Evolved
Onto the awards, we were proud that ‘Bedroom Evolved’ was up for the Concept Product Innovation of the Year Award & came away being Highly Commended. We were also proud to see that some of the projects we have supported with our products over the last year were also up for awards. It was great to see Lincoln Peter Hodgkinson Centre take the award in the Service User Engagement category, whilst Aspen Wood was Highly Commended within the same category. We’d like to say well done to all those shortlisted and a massive congratulations to anyone who won the award or were Highly Commended. The highlight for us was the positive response to some of our new products, which we launched a new window solution called the ‘Irwell’ along with our new trickle vent solution called the ‘Medlock’.

We’ would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that came over to speak with our team as we feel this event was an overwhelming success. The event allows us to show our commitment to supporting mental health spaces which promote healing and recovery. We already cannot wait for the next one which will be Healthcare Estates at Manchester Central October 9th-11th.
